Here, the body, as a vessel, becomes a tool for engaging with and remembering. Following the traditions of her ancestors, who passed knowledge from mouth to ear, ensuring their survival in the face of great adversity, she activates her own mouth on the register of that communal activity. She turns her teeth into a means for mark-making, developing a technique to transform bodily memory into a tangible surface of memorial.
