tooth and a folly (2024)
Baby tooth from Father’s collection of artist’s baby teeth in the original metal container, glass, mirror, 8.5 x 6cm
Here, a father’s ordinary act of preservation becomes an unconscious process of icon-making. The real tooth and its reflection gesture at the line between material and representation, asking what, ultimately, is preserved in our icons: the object itself, or simply the memory of one’s objective desire?
